Eastfield Volleyball Begins Season Aug. 20
MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield volleyball team will begin the season against Southwestern Christian College on the road Aug. 20.
The Harvester Bees begin a new era as Dale Starr takes over a program that has won three straight National Junior College Athletic Association Division III championships. They usher in the new regime with 12 straight matches away from home.
Eastfield meets Coffeyville Community College, Arlington Baptist University, Collin College and Seminole State College on Aug. 21-22 at the Collin College Tournament in Frisco, Texas. The following weekend, the Bees play four matches at the Wrangler/Ranger Roundup hosted by Ranger College and Cisco College. The Harvesters will see the likes of Cloud County Junior College, Collin, Cowley Junior College and host Ranger Aug. 28-29.
Following the second tournament of the season, the Harvester Bees will Wiley University Junior Varsity and Panola College in Carthage, Texas.
The Bees' home opener is Sept. 9 against Wayland Baptist University Junior Varsity. Three days later, they host the Eastfield Tri-Match against Lee College and Coffeyville Sept. 12. Eastfield brings in College of DuPage Sept. 18.
Dallas Athletic Conference play begins Sept. 21 at home against Dallas College Brookhaven in a rematch of last year's NJCAA Division III national championship. The Harvesters' first week of conference play concludes at home against Dallas College North Lake. Eastfield's first road DAC match is Sept. 28 at Dallas College Richland.
The Harvesters will play Southwestern Christian Junior Varsity and Rose State College at the Rose State Tri-Match Oct. 2 before wrapping up the first round of DAC play at Dallas College Mountain View.
Round Two of league action begins with a trip to Brookhaven Oct. 8 before the Bees host Seminole State in the final nonconference match of the season. After a road trip to Dallas College Cedar Valley Oct. 19, the Bees host Mountain View Oct. 22 to close the regular season.
The NJCAA South District Tournament runs Oct. 28-31 at the site of the DAC champion.
