Santos Named National Player of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Eastfield's Mia Santos was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Volleyball Player of the Week.

A sophomore outside hitter from Forney, Texas, Santos pounded 49 kills, and had 27 digs and six aces, and hit .345 as No. 1 Eastfield went 4-0 with all sweeps at the Dallas College Richland Tournament last week. Santos had 18 kills in the win over Independence Community College. She added 13 kills, hit .346, and served two aces in the sweep of Temple College. She hit a season-best .533 in the 3-0 sweep of Southwestern Christian College.

Santos leads the country in kills (107).

Eastfield competes in the College of DuPage Invitational Friday and Saturday in Glen Illyn, Illinois.
